SYTYCD, I miss you!
There are so many dances I see and so many days at dance that I wish I could write about, but because of all my homework, essays, and exams I’ve had to restrict myself. Well hello everyone, and even though I should be doing some serious studying I don’t care. There is just one week left of school and I don’t want to let another dance pass by without being recognized.
On November seventeenth during America’s top fourteen performance show of SYTYCD instead of running to my room right after danced class to write a huge essay I had due the next day I decided to sit down on the couch and watch a few dances. I haven’t been able to watch any of this season because I have dance class the same time as the show. This dance was the first full dance I’d seen this entire season and I just sat there stunned. I think I asked my mom at least five times if all the dances were this good. I felt like I’d missed one of the best seasons of the show. This year the stage is bigger and the judges have more of a say. Everything seems different and for a while I’ve been a bit hesitant on watching it because it seems so foreign, but after seeing this dance I changed my mind.
This dance is by Ellenore and her partner Ryan. They danced a contemporary by Travis to one of my favorite songs, your ex-lover is dead by Stars. Gah I just died! Of course, after the dance ended and I caught my breath I ran to my room, shut the door, played your ex-lover is dead on repeat, stayed up until two in the morning, and finished my essay. Go me!
Then last night during the top ten performance show Ellenore had another contemporary routine, this time with Jakob, and choreographed by Sonya. It was so Sonya, and I loved every second of it.
Even though I’ve barely watched the show I’m hoping Ellenore wins.
